WILDLIFE IN THE MANGROVES
Look Along the Banks and Canopy
American crocodiles may rest along the banks, while howler monkeys can be heard or seen in the trees. Herons, egrets, kingfishers, roseate spoonbills and frigatebirds are among the birds found around the estuary.
Mangrove roots also shelter fish, crabs and other small marine life. Sightings depend on the day and are not guaranteed.
Follow the guide’s instructions and observe wildlife at a respectful distance. Never approach or feed crocodiles.
